RTC bus kills two, injures 1

VIJAYAWADA: A road mishap claimed lives of two minors and severely injured one person on Mahatma Gandhi Road in the city on Sunday. The incident occurred when a RTC bus ran over the victims when they fell on the road.

Gudapati Noyin Kumar, a 17-year-old and 14-year-old Borla Jagadish Chandra were residents of Krishnalanka area of the city.

The duo were riding on a two-wheeler in the wrong route after filling petrol in their vehicle near the sub-collector’s office in Vijayawada.

Twenty seven-year-old Addepalli Noyin Kumar, travelling on another bike, was trying to cross the  junction at Rythu Bazar to enter the Mahatma Gandhi Road when both the two-wheelers at high speed collided head on.

While they were struggling to stand up, the speeding RTC bus ran over them, killing the two minors on the spot.

Addepalli Noyin Kumar, who suffered severe injuries, was shifted to the nearby private hospital for treatment. The Suryaraopet police have registered a case and are investigating.
