VIJAYAWADA: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana questioned Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham as to why he was on fast-unto-death when Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was taking steps to accord BC status to Kapus. Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Narayana, who also belongs to Kapu community, said that the Chief Minister was keen on ensuring that when he accords BC status to the Kapus, it should withstand any legal hurdles. He said that was the reason why a BC commission was constituted and the issue was referred to it.
