PK Bondriya New GGM of Simhadri Power Plant

VISAKHAPATNAM: Praveen Kumar Bondriya assumed charge as Group General Manager (GGM) of Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant of NTPC here on Monday. He took charge from his outgoing counterpart AK Samanta who has been transferred to Sipat Super Thermal Power Station in Chhattisgargh.

PK Bondriya has 32 years of rich experience in the power sector. He joined the NTPC in  1983 as executive trainee. He served in various capacities at NTPC stations and head offices such as Badarpur, Hydro Region Headquarters, Gidderbaha, Consultancy and Farakka (West Bengal).

The SSTPP team welcomed PK Bondriya and bid a grand farewell to AK Samanta.

Sports Meet

Before leaving the SSTPP, Samanta inaugurated a sports meet at Sadhana Kreeda Maidan, Deepanjalinagar (township of the SSTPP), by hoisting the NTPC flag and declared open the meet. On the occasion, Samanta emphasised the need to participate in the sports activities and advised the students to inculcate sportive spirit. As many as 400 students from 14 ZP high schools participated in the meet.

Track and field events, comprising 100 m, 400 m and 800 m running for girls and 100, 400 and 1500 m running race for boys and  long jump and shot put. Team events include kho-kho, volleyball for boys and throwball and tennikoit ring for girls were conducted. Prizes were distributed among the winners in the track and field events as well as winning and runners-up teams in the group events.
