CM Pats Ramya for Boxing Bronze

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was all praise for G Ramya, who won bronze medal in the international boxing contest (Under 16) held recently in Russia.   When she met the CM in Vijayawada on Monday, he described her as an inspiration to others and said she had brought laurels to the state.

He also praised the efforts of her parents and coach. Ramya is from Vanukuru village of Krishna district and her father G Bulga had trained her initially.

An intermediate second year student, she is undergoing training under coaches Venkatesh and Srinivas in Visakhapatnam.

She secured the medal in 48 kg category and was one among the three representing the country in the tournament, which was attended by boxers from 24 countries.
