Amend Statute for Kapus,Ex-MP Tells CM

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM:Former MP GV Harsha Kumar has said that reservations to Kapu community was possible by amending Schedule 9 of the Indian Constitution in the Parliament, like in Kerala and Tamil Nadu states.

The government can give reservations to Kapus, by not disturbing the existing reservations of BCs. “Justice Manjunath commission is nothing but a ploy to delay the burning issue. Naidu is giving political colour to the reservations issue. The state government has given loans to the tune of Rs 3.40 crore in the year 2014-2015 for 3,400 units as against of Rs 30 crore,” he said.

He demanded the state government to publish a white paper on SC funds and also tell how the government was going to spend funds sanctioned to Kapu Welfare Corporation.
