Krishna District Tops Andhra State in Growth Rate

VIJAYAWADA:  The Krishna district stood first in growth rate in the entire state with 12.88 per cent at the end of the third quarter of the present financial year. Very close to Krishna were Visakhapatnam with 12.23 and West Godavari with 11.75 per cent.

Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu released the statistics on the first day of the two-day collectors’ conference here on Monday.

But, when it comes to par capital income, it is Rs 1.45 lakh per annum in Krishna, Rs 1.46 in Visakhapatnam and Rs 1.21 in West Godavari district. In the state’s GSDP, Krishna district’s contribution was 11.92 per cent. Services sector accounted for 47.9 per cent, agriculture 32, industries 2 per cent. Of the six thrust areas, Krishna district stood first in six areas. They include fisheries, livestock and water.
