Bamboo Reliable During Natural Calamity: Expert

VISAKHAPATNAM:  A two-day hands-on-workshop titled “Role of Bamboo in Sustainable Structures”, organised by GITAM School of Architecture concluded on their campus on Wednesday. 

National expert on bamboo structures Ghani Zaman, commonly known as Bamboo man of India, along with Dreamland Khongjoh delivered lectures on the use of bamboo.

Usage of bamboo for the construction of earthquake and cyclone-resistant structures was demonstrated during the workshop.

Structures made with bamboo joineries can resist wind speed up to 180 kmph and earthquake speed up to 6.8 as well, experts explained.
