15 IPS officers reshuffled, Vijayawada gets 3 more top cops

HYDERABAD/VIJAYAWADA:  With the rising importance of Vijayawada, the administrative seat for the state at present, steps have been taken to strengthen the city police commissionerate.  As part of it three more IPS officers have been posted to the city.

In a minor reshuffle of IPS officers in the state, three officers - Koya Praveen (DCP - Law and Order 1), G Pala Raju (DCP - Law and Order 2) and Kanthi Rana Tata (DCP - Traffic) have been posted to the city.

While Praveen and Pala Raju were waiting for the posting, Kanthi Rana Tata was serving as SP CID before being transferred to Vijayawada.  Recently, senior IPS officer P Hari Kumar was posted as Joint Commissioner of Police to the city.

Among the other key postings, Vijay Ranjan Ray has been appointed as director general, Prisons. Harish Kumar Gupta has been appointed IGP, technical services. KVV Gopala Rao has been appointed DIG of the vigilance and enforcement wing.
