Now, devotees can choose Tirumala Tirupati darshan time

TIRUMALA: The TTD is all set to start its new scheme of issuing time slot tokens to Srivari Sarva Darshan (SSD) pilgrims from Monday.

However, it would initially be on a trial basis. This effort is to provide hassle-free darshan to devotees who stand in long queues of sarva darshan at the Vaikuntam queue complex.

TTD has come up with this new scheme after successfully running time slot mechanism of `300 Sheeghra Darshan and footpath pilgrim darshan systems.

TTD issues 10,000 to 15,000 of `300 special entry darshan tickets and 20,000 (footpath) Divya Darshan tokens every day. Now, it is planning to issue 30,000 tokens under the new SSD token system from Monday on an experimental basis.

Based on the feedback of pilgrims on the SSD token system, TTD will come up with improvements and alterations in the mechanism before making it permanent.

After strengthening the time slot token system for free darshan, it will be made a permanent feature. To run the show, the TTD has set up nearly 117 counters at various places in Tirumala and all the counters will be inspected by senior board officials.

In these counters, display time slots, token numbers and darshan reporting time on digital signboards will be displayed on the premises and token issue counters will work round-the-clock.
