VIJAYAWADA: The Krishna district administration along with the VMC, is making arrangements for the successful conduct of the Aviation Show to be held in the city from January 12 to 14. Four private aircraft from the UK, have already arrived in Vijayawada and the aviation show will commence after the inauguration of the international terminal at Gannavaram airport on Jan 12.As part of the three-day event, as many as five shows will be organised with four aircraft models. There will be single show for a duration of 15 minutes on the evening of first day (Jan 12). Two shows - 11:30 to 11:45 am and 4 to 4:15 pm - will be held in the next two days.
Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday, Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and District Collector Babu A said people can witness the aviation show from Bhavani and Punnami ghats.
The Krishna district administration is also making elaborate arrangements for Digi Dhan Mela at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium on Jan 9. About 50 banks, mobile network providers, oil and fertiliser companies and all those departments organising cashless transactions will set up 70 stalls at the Mela.
As part of the Mela, the bankers and officials will explain about various mobile applications, digital payment wallets brought out for implementation of cashless transactions and also the process of linking bank accounts to Aadhaar cards, urging people to adopt digital economy, the Collector said.
