GUNTUR/VIJAYAWADA: Two days after a senior TDP leader fired into the air with his revolver at Gudivada, another TDP leader created a ruckus and thrashed tourism department employees at the Haritha Resorts in Suryalanka beach late Friday night. Sources said police did not register a case until the issue went to the notice of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who took a serious view of the incident and reportedly sought an explanation from his party colleague in question.

The TDP leader, MLC Annam Satish Prabhakar along with a few other party colleagues, including Repalle MLA Anagani Satyaprasad, went to celebrate a party at the Haritha Resorts of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), at Suryalanka beach on Friday. In his complaint, APTDC Haritha Resorts Suryalanka manager Ch Srinivas Rao said Satish Prabhakar beat him up in an inebriated condition at the resort. “The MLC slapped me thrice on my face.

When a couple of my colleagues rushed to save me, his friends bashed up my colleagues. Due to the pressure mounted by him, the police too did not take my complaint till Saturday morning,” he alleged. The MLC and his followers also lodged a counter complaint accusing the APTDC staff of attacking them. They claimed they had booked A/C rooms at the resorts for a party but that the staff did not respond to their repeated pleas for repairing a defunct A/C.
