City decks up for Vaikunta Ekadasi

VIJAYAWADA: Vaikunta Ekadasi, considered one of the most auspicious days by the Hindus, was observed with devotional fervour with people thronging the various temples in the city on Sunday. All the temples, especially Sri Rama and Sri Venkateswara Swamy temples, Labbipet, which were decked up for the occasion, teemed with devotees till late in the evening.

The respective temple managements made elaborate arrangements for the devotees to witness the special rituals performed on the occasion. According to the Vishnu Purana, Vaikunta Ekadasi falls on Shukla Paksha of Pausha month in the Hindu calendar.
