Derailment disrupts train services in east coast

VISAKHAPATNAM: After the Hirakhand Express derailed near Kuneru railway station of Vizianagaram district on Saturday night, the East Coast Railway has cancelled, diverted and short terminated several trains.

Engineering officials and NDRF teams are working to clear the tracks which is expected to be completed on Monday.

One passenger special with stranded passengers of the Hirakhand Express with 13 coaches ran from Kuneru to Bhubaneswar via Rayagada-Titilagarh-Sambalpur-Angul on Sunday

East Coast Railway Zone has also pressed into service 13 buses to take the stranded passengers to various places. The following are the changes in pattern of train services.

58503 Rayagada-Visakhapatnam passenger leaving Rayagada on January 22.
58538 Visakhapatnam-Koraput passenger leaving Visakhapatnam on January 22.
18309 Sambalpur-Nanded Express leaving Sambalpur on January 22.
58504 Visakhapatnam-Koraput Passenger leaving Visakhapatnam on January 22.
18448/18438 Jagdalpur-Jungarh Road-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express on January 22.

Short terminated

57271 Vijayawada-Rayagada Passenger commenced on January 21 from Vijayawada short terminated at Visakhapatanm.
58530 Visakhapatnam-Durg Passenger commenced January 21, short terminated at Donkinvalasa
58529 Durg-Visakhapatnam Passenger commenced on January 21 from Durg short terminated at Titilagarh and will run as 58530 from Titilagarh to Durg
18517 Korba-Visakhapatnam Express commenced on January 21 from Korba short terminated at Rayagada
58537 Koraput-Visakhapatnam Passenger commenced on Sunday from Koraput short terminated
