HYDERABAD: Against the backdrop of BJP leader Yashwant Sinha’s act of firing salvos at the Centre and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he will not keep quiet when the Indian economy faces ‘disrobement’, Union Parliamentary Affairs minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday took potshots at his senior colleague in the party in a different manner.“Some people consider it as their right to blame the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for everything. On the other hand, the PM considers to work for the country’s progress as his religion,” the Union minister indirectly hit out at Modi’s detractors. Calling demonetisation an ‘effective step’ taken by the Central government, the minister said the drive had started showing results.

But, he had not named any of the results. Naqvi then launched a political jibe at some of the opposition parties calling them ‘champions of corruption’. The minister was talking about how the Central government is moving forward with their economic agenda despite the ‘diversionary tactics’ employed by ‘some political parties’. Naqvi was inaugurating a camp promoting Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana here on Thursday.

“Despite diversionary tactic by some political parties and champions of corruption, the government is moving forward to make India an economic power of the world,” said Naqvi taking an indirect jibe at the Congress Party and its allies. The Union minister said  that these were the people whose businesses ‘are finished’ as corruption have come to an end in the country under the NDA rule. “Blockade of brokers from power corridors of Delhi and lockout of loot lobby has created panic among the champions of corruption,” he thundered.

Naqvi said the PM was striving hard for the country’s progress on all fronts. The minister claimed that the Mudra scheme had so far approved `9.13 crore as loans to small and medium enterprises across India. Women formed a major chunk of the beneficiaries of the scheme i.e. 76 per cent. More than 55 per cent of the beneficiaries are from minority communities, the minister added.
