Rowdy hacked to death

A rowdy-sheeter was hacked to death and his body was found near the railway station at Tenali on Sunday.

GUNTUR: A rowdy-sheeter was hacked to death and his body was found near the railway station at Tenali on Sunday. M Srinivasa Reddy alias Banda Srinu (35) was a resident of Jayaprakash Nagar and living with his mother Kasamma.

He received injuries in a quarrel with Suresh and Nagendra at a vegetable market on October 19. He was later admitted to a hospital for treatment. Nagendra and Suresh reportedly visited the hospital and asked Srinu out for a drink. After this incident, Srinu did not return home. Meanwhile, an unidentified person on Sunday informed Srinu’s relative Siva over phone about the murder.

The relatives of Srinu found his body lying near the walking track of Koneru Cheruvu area near the railway station. Siva lodged a complaint with the Three Town police. According to sources, unidentified miscreants bludgeoned Srinu to death with a huge boulder.

Tenali DSP M Snehita and Three Town CI A Ashok Kumar rushed to the spot and shifted the body to government general hospital in Tenali for post-mortem.
