GUNTUR: The GMC organised the Swachathe Seva programme at Gujjanagundla park in the city on Sunday. The cleanliness drive launched on September 15, will continue up to Gandhi Jayanthi. GMC Commissioner Ch Anuradha, MLA M Venugopala Reddy and others participated in the programme and spruced up the walking track in the park.
Speaking on the occasion, the Municipal Commissioner and MLA urged people to cooperate with the GMC in its efforts to make the city open defecation free. Gujjanagundla Walkers Association members also participated in the cleanliness programme. Cadets of 2 (A) Armd Sqn NCC, Guntur, participated in the Swachathe Seva programme at Gandhi Park. The park premises and its surroundings were spruced up by NCC cadets of of Hindu College.
