GUNTUR:The GMC has taken up a plan to beautify Guntur city in a big way as it is the gateway to capital Amaravati.District Collector K Sasidhar and GMC Commissioner Ch Anuradha held a meeting with the officials here on Monday on beautification of Guntur city. The beautification plan includes construction of a welcome arch at the entrance of the city, development of green corridors and road dividers and laying of footpaths. Decoration of walls with paintings at public places is also part of the beautification plan. The officials submitted designs of the welcome arch, green corridors, road dividers and footpaths.
The beautification plan was explained through a PowerPoint presentation. Speaking after the review meeting, the Collector said the construction of the welcome arch at Pedakakani would be taken up soon as part of the beautification plan.
