VIJAYAWADA: BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju has said that the TDP targeted the Centre as the former had failed to effectively counter the YSRC. Referring to Chandrababu Naidu’s flip-flop on the special category status issue, he said that the TDP walked into the trap laid by the YSRCP.
Speaking to reporters after participating in the 39th formation day celebrations of the BJP here on Friday, the BJP floor leader in the Assembly said that the TDP government conducted the budget session unilaterally.“We were not given an opportunity in the Assembly. When we tried to talk about the irregularities in the government, our mics were muted. Now, I understand why Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy boycotted the session,” he said.
He accused the TDP of corrupt practices. He questioned why the State government dropped the SIT probe into the Visakhapatnam land scam. “Isn’t a TDP minister behind the Visakhapatnam land scam? Bheemili constituency is the first place in the State which witnessed land irregularities,” he alleged.Party’s MLC PVN Madhav said that the BJP would come to power in the coming years. He appealed to the party activists and members to work towards strengthening the party in the State.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana alleged that the TDP severed ties with the NDA only after the Centre started questioning the State government’s corrupt practices. Kanna, who participated in the party formation day celebrations in Guntur, said that the BJP was cheated by the TDP.
