Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu maintaining double standards,  says BJP legislator

In a letter addressed to Naidu, the Visakhapatnam MLA alleged that the former is maintaining double standards.

VIJAYAWADA: Questioning the rationale behind the all-party meeting convened by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Floor Leader in the Assembly P Vishnu Kumar Raju said it was held by the TDP chief for his personal gains.

In a letter addressed to Naidu, the Visakhapatnam MLA alleged that the former is maintaining double standards. “When we wanted to present our version or raise issues in the Assembly, you have muted our microphones to deny us an opportunity to speak. But now, you have sent us an invitation to participate in the all-party meeting. What is the logic behind these acts? As the meeting is for your personal gains, we are staying away from it,” he said.

He blamed the TDP and its MPs for disruption of proceedings in the Parliament, and later protesting against the BJP for not taking up business. “Weren’t the cycle rallies you had undertaken and the protests by your MPs in the Speaker’s chambers tricks for cheap publicity? How would you feel if the Opposition MLAs do the same in the State Assembly?” he sought to know. Vishnu Kumar Raju also found fault with CM Naidu for ‘taking a u-turn’ regarding special category status.

“Your contention that the Centre has meted out a raw deal to AP, and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cheated you is only for your political mileage,” he said. He observed, “It appears that you have more confidence in Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as your MPs staged a protest along with Congress MPs during the Parliament session.”
