VIJAYAWADA: Dry weather condition prevailed across coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema regions on Saturday. The day temperatures kept surging across the State by 1-2 degree Celsius and almost all the places in Rayalaseema region recorded 38-41 degree celsius. On Saturday, Anantapur, Kurnool and Nandyal cities registered highest temperature of 41 degree Celsius. It is predicted that the State may witness hot climate with moderate heat waves for the next three-four days.
State Disaster Management Authority has warned that almost 23 mandals across the State may experience moderate and severe heat wave conditions. Visakhapatnam and East Godavari are prone to heat wave conditions and the temperature is set to deviate by one to two degrees from normal. Both day and night temperatures may touch 42 degree Celsius in the coming four days. Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur, Chittoor and Prakasam districts are vulnerable to moderate heat wave conditions. In these districts, the temperature may cross over 40 degree Celsius.
“The heat wave conditions may intensify, as the dry weather conditions are prevailing across the State. Some parts of north coastal Andhra might face thunderstorm. The temperature will go up and humidity conditions may also intensify. Coastal areas may experience severe heat wave conditions,” Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, director YK Reddy said. Rayalaseema and south coastal districts like Krishna Guntur region are experiencing dry weather conditions. Maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius was recorded in Rayalaseema region. In Krishna Guntur regions, the day temperature touched 40 degree Celsius.
