GUNTUR: A tanker carrying 19 tonnes of sulphuric acid overturned due to break failure on NH-16 near the toll gate at Kaza village of Mangalagiri mandal on Sunday.
The tanker was heading towards Egmore in Tamil Nadu from Kakinada. The tanker lost control and skidded towards nearby farm fields. The fire department and NDRF teams soon after began an operation to lift the tanker by using crane. To stop leakages, the officials covered the accident spot with sands.
