VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Opposition leader and YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday called for state-wide bandh on July 24 to protest the indifferent attitude of the Centre in fulfilling assurances made under the AP Reorganization Act, especially extending Special Category Status to the state and also to mount pressure on the ruling TDP MPs to resign from their posts.

The bandh call came in the wake of the Centre not coming up with any specific assurance on SCS or other issues during the debate on No Confidence Motion on Friday. Speaking to reporters on Saturday at Kakinada before setting on his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, Jagan Mohan Reddy said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who had compromised on the interests of Andhra Pradesh by accepting a special assistance package instead of SCS, is now trying to project himself as a leader fighting for SCS.
