GUNTUR: Industries Minister N Amarnath Reddy has said that AP is following the world-class industrial policies, which attracted Kia Motors and other major companies to set up their units in the State.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the District Industries Centre (DIC) here on Thursday, he said lakhs of crores of investments came to residuary AP in the last four years due to the endeavour of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to promote industrial growth in the State in a big way, which generated a huge amount of employment for local people.

AP which stood first in Ease of Doing Business in the country, is giving all necessary permissions for setting up industries  within 21 days. The Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor  will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 5,600 crore. The TDP government is determined to bring Rs 50,000 crore investments in the coastal zone of the State by laying emphasis on marine and food processing industries, the minister said.

Refuting the allegations of YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy against the Chief Minister, he said the Opposition Leader was trying to obstruct the flow of investments into the State. “The YSRC, BJP and Jana Sena are trying to create hurdles to the economic development of the State by levelling baseless allegations against the Telugu Desam regime,” the Industries Minister said.  

The DIC building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore and it will be completed within nine months. All the DICs in the State will get their own buildings in near future, he added.

Ministers N Anand Babu and P Pulla Rao, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sk Johny Moon, Ponnur MLA D Narendra, District Collector K Sasidhar and others participated in the programme.
