GUNTUR: A 30-year-old woman committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Penumudi village of Repalli mandal in Guntur district on Sunday after having a verbal confrontation with her partner, police said.
According to Repalle Urban CI Penchala Reddy, the victim--Yerragalla Rekha Madhuri--was in a live-in relationship for two years with one Mahesh after divorcing her husband. The couple were residing in Hyderabad, but Madhuri started living with her family at Penumudi village as the duo often had disputes.
On the day of the incident, Mahesh was visiting Madhuri at her house, but the couple ended up having a confrontation in front of her family members, police said.
Soon, the victim left her house and consumed pesticide by mixing it with soft drinks and died on the spot at Repalle railway station. Koteswara Rao, her father, said in his complaint that Madhuri ended her life after facing harassment from Mahesh. Police have registered a case against the incident.
