YSRC MLA appears before ACB, alleges witch-hunt by Andhra Pradesh government

Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy has challenged his rivals to prove allegations that he is a benami of Guntur DSP Durga Prasad and offered to quit politics if proved guilty.

VIJAYAWADA: Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy has challenged his rivals to prove allegations that he is a benami of Guntur DSP Durga Prasad and offered to quit politics if proved guilty.
“I am innocent. TDP leaders are accusing me of filing cases against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh,” the MLA said. On Monday, Ramakrishna Reddy appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with a disproportionate assets case filed against the Guntur DSP a year ago.

Addressing the media, Ramakrishna Reddy said, “TDP leaders are getting back at me for raising questions about capital Amaravati and Sadavarthi land scams. They are using ACB as a weapon to put me in trouble.”

He alleged that CM Naidu manipulated Supreme Court judges to save himself from the cash-for-vote scam.

“I wonder why the ACB is linking me with the disproportionate assets case. This is nothing but harassment,” he said.

“Owing to pressures from Chandrababu Naidu, Telangana government has soft-pedalled on investigation. If CBI investigates the case, whole world will see who are the real culprits.” Ramakrishna expressed discontent with posts circulating in the social media that the ACB had crucial information in the case.
