HYDERABAD: The ruling TRS leadership has reportedly identified some more influential leaders of Congress and TDP from weaker sections in order to woo them into the party fold in the run-up to the 2019  polls.It is learnt that the pink party wants to strengthen its position in Assembly segments where it is weak, particularly in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area and Southern Telangana. Hence, according to sources, the party leadership has prepared a list of strong  leaders who can improve the ruling party’s electoral prospects in the 2019  polls.

“Negotiations are already being held with such leaders in order to induct them into the pink party,” sources said. Against this backdrop, Congress leader and former minister M Mukesh Goud, whose name is being considered as next in the line to quit the Congress to join the TRS, on Friday said Danam Nagender and he were earlier planned to join the ruling party by organising a huge public meeting with BCs.

“But, Nagender hurriedly quit the Congress,” he remarked, while speaking to a vernacular TV channel, soon after Nagender’s resignation to the Congress. Meanwhile, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, V Hanumantha Rao, Mohammed Ali Shabbir met at the residence of Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy on Friday afternoon and discussed  on how to effectively counter the strategies of ruling party leadership and keep their party’s flock together.
