Six Telangana MLAs have similar cases against them; two of them ministers

Association for  Democratic Reforms (ADR), an NGO for national election watch, in its report released on Thursday in Chennai stated that as many as six MLAs in Telangana contested in 2014.

HYDERABAD: Association for  Democratic Reforms (ADR), an NGO for national election watch, in its report released on Thursday in Chennai stated that as many as six MLAs in Telangana contested in 2014 elections have declared criminal cases with regard to alleged electoral malpractices. 
Of the six MLAs,  two were inducted in the State Cabinet.

The ADR analysed the basis of cases related to electoral malpractices. Out of 1,356 MLAs all over the country with declared criminal cases, 128 have declared cases related to electoral malpractices such as bribery (171E), undue influence or personation at an election (171F and 171C), illegal payments in connection with elections (171H) etc, according to ADR.  

The two ministers with cases against them are Jupally Krishna Rao(Kollapur) and Jogu Ramanna(Adilabad). Rao has one charge related to causing hurt to extort property or to constrain to an illegal act (IPC Section-327). One charge related to bribery (IPC Section-171E).  Four charges related to wrongful restraint (IPC Section-341).
