Booth-level officers asked to conduct door-to-door campaigning

Each BLO should enrol 350-400 voters during the campaigning as the deadline for the exercise is set for November 6, the GMC chief  said.

GUNTUR: After inspecting campaign centres at Urdu High School and Yadava High School on Saturday in Guntur city, Guntur Municipal Commissioner (GMC) Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar directed the booth-level officers (BLOs) to organise door-to-door campaigning for enrolment of voters ahead of graduate constituency elections.

Each BLO should enrol 350-400 voters during the campaigning as the deadline for the exercise is set for November 6, the GMC chief said.The block-level officers were asked to use public announcement systems, distribute pamphlets and make banners during the voter registration drive for polling in 469 booths in Guntur district’s East and West constituencies.

“The BLOs will be available for campaigning on Saturdays and Sundays between 10 am and 5 pm,” Lathkar said, urging the officers to focus on college students for choosing the representatives to the Legislative Council.
