HYDERABAD: Questioning acquisition of land without State government’s permission in Undavalli village of Tadepalli Mandal in Guntur district, the Hyderabad High Court has stayed all further proceedings of land acquisition in the said village. It is not correct to acquire lands in Undavalli village without any request from the CRDA and permission from the State government, the court observed.
Justice M S Ramachandra Rao was passing the interim order on a petition filed by Kannarao Naidu, P Ranga Rao and others from Undavalli village challenging the decision of the authorities to acquire land in their village without permission from the State government.
The petitioners’ counsel submitted that it was mandatory to have the government’s permission for any land acquisition. However, the authorities went ahead for land acquisition without any permission from the government or the CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority), he pointed out.
