TTD to deploy more staff at Kalyanakatta

TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is fully geared up to provide quick services to devotees for the ensuing Brahmotsavams.Since the celestial fete is set to be held with Vahana Sevas on Four Mada Streets after a gap of two years following the Covid pandemic, the TTD is anticipating a massive turnout and making arrangements for the convenience of devotees.

With one main Kalyanakatta and 10 mini- kalyanakattas, the TTD has plans to deploy 1,189 barbers, including 337 permanent (336 men and 1 woman) and 852 piece rate workers (639 men and 213 women). They will work in three shifts with 20 regular maistris, three assistants and 46 supporting staff.

Besides the main Kalyanakatta, there are mini-kalyanakattas at PAC-1, PAC-2, PAC-3, SV rest house and Sri Padmavati rest house that runs on 24×7 basis. Kalyanakattas at GNC, Nandakam rest house, HVC, Kaustubham and Saptagiri rest houses will operate from 3 am to 9 pm. All Kalyanakattas have been provided with solar heater water systems, besides adequate bathroom facilities. The TTD will supply blades, aprons, hand gloves, uniforms, PPE kits, masks and anti-septic lotions to all barbers.
