BANGALORE: Tamil actress Ranjitha has claimed that the woman with Swami Nithyananda in the controversial CD was not her. The actress, who held a press conference in Bangalore on Friday, a day after filing a private complaint against Lenin and two others in the Ramanagaram District Court, claimed the CD had been morphed.
Explaining the reasons behind her silence all these days, Ranjitha said "some persons'' had threatened to kill her and her family members if she commented on the CD or approached the police.
"I flew to the US on March 3, the day after the controversial visuals were aired on some TV channels. The CD was morphed by a pervert and sick-minded person," she said.
Asked if she had any evidence to prove that the woman was not her, as forensic experts had clarified that the CD was not morphed, she reiterated that the woman was not her.
She alleged that a Christian missionary was behind the whole episode.
"I don't know if it was me or Swami Nithyananda who was the target. But a huge extortion motive could be the motive behind it. If somebody has a grudge against anyone, they should not make an innocent woman a scapegoat," she said.
