This Zilla Panchayat member got a pat on his back for the commendable work taken up in his constituency. Srinivasaiah (45), a JD(S) member from Jade Mayasandra in Turuvekere, who ensured basic amenities, including drinking water, to his electorate and was paid with jalebis.
His secret is his accessibility to people and attending to their grievances. He has managed to get works worth `1.4 crore implemented this year, mostly pertaining to drinking water and roads.
Led by leader Abdul Vahab, the people of Ittigehalli and surrounding villages conducted tulabhara for him with jalebis at a dargah. He weighed around 65 kg.
Another leader Jafrulla Khan said that sweets were distributed to the people gathered there.
They fed their hero with Mysore Pak instead of jalebis which they felt was too ordinary for their extraordinary leader. Srinivasaiah told Express that his entry to politics was accidental, but he was overwhelmed by the gratitude shown to him.
