Monsoon to hit State

According to Indian Meteorological Department, Bangalore the south-west monsoon has set in over Kerala on Thursday.

It has further advanced into remaining parts of Arabian Sea and southern parts of Central Arabian Sea, the release stated.

According to Director in-charge at IMD Bangalore B Puttanna, the monsoon is expected to take its course in Karnataka by Wednesday .

Heavy rainfalls have been witnessed  on June 5 in some parts of Karnataka with Ankola recording 11 cm of rain.

According to officials, heavy rain is expected in isolated places over coastal Karnataka and ghat areas in the next 48 hours.

The department has issued warning to fishermen in coastal areas.
