Vishnu Vandana, the 47-year-old daughter of former MP of Koppal H G Ramulu, was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified miscreants at the Jayanagar Shopping Complex on Monday. The abductors reportedly demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh from her husband, Ravikumar, a businessman.
“After shopping, she was standing near the complex with her cousin Dolly. Around 7 pm, an unidentified man and a woman approached them and told Dolly that her relatives were waiting for her. When Dolly turned towards Vandana, she could not find her. The man and woman had also left the scene. She immediately informed Vandana’s husband. About 30 minutes later, Vandana called up her husband and said she was kidnapped and was going in a four-wheeler near Double Road. After sometime, he got a call from Andhra Pradesh and the caller demanded a ransom of `30 lakh for her safe release,” police said.
“Though efforts were made to track her through her mobile, it went out of reach from Majestic. Around 11 pm, she called her sister and told her she was being taken in a bus but was not aware of the location,” sources said. Ramulu lives in HSR Layout and has seven daughters and two sons.
