BANGALORE: State BJP president K S Eshwarappa, while expressing confidence at an early Cabinet expansion, found no fault with legislators involved in a signature campaign and pressuring the chief minister for the same.

He addressed newsmen here on Wednesday that the party high command was aware of the burden of multiple portfolios on Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda. “It is natural for legislators wanting to be inducted in the Cabinet; airing their views in the open is no offence,” he said.

Informing that Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will hold meeting with party seniors on the issue, he said that other matters such as change in portfolios and possibilities of drafting senior ministers would come up for talks.

He, however, denied that the pending cases against former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa is hampering Cabinet expansion.

Denying that the differences among senior leaders has a negative impact on the administration, Eshwarappa said termed performances of several ministers as excellent, which was evidenced when the Centre appreciated the functioning of various state departments.

Referring to the participation of BJP MLAs in B Sriramulu’s ‘padayatra’, he said this would be brought to the notice of the party high command and recommend disciplinary action.
