Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Bangalore South MP H N Ananthkumar said National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA’s) rule at the centre was an example of ‘Ram Rajya’.
At a Gandhi Jayanti programme, he also spoke about how BJP leaders like Atal Behari Vajpayee had taken steps to implement Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings.
He said the BJP has always believed in Gandhi’s vision of Ram Rajya and has tried to implement it.
“Narendra Modi’s ‘Vanche Gujarat’ scheme, Vajpayee’s Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Scheme and Raman Singh’s nutrition security schemes have been successful in bringing about a change in society. These schemes have helped us reach out to the public,” he said while stating that food, education and shelter for the poor are the BJP’s primary focus areas.
“These are the basic requirements for a healthy society and Ram Rajya. The government must follow these concepts,” he said.
