Cultural Programme (Palace) Sub Committee Chairman K R Mohankumar said that artistes who have taken part in the Dasara cultural programmes for the last three consecutive years will not get a chance this year.
At a meeting here on Wednesday, he said that as many as 682 applications had been received for cultural programmes, of which 200 have been selected by a high-level committee. Preference will be given to local artistes who have performed at the national-level.
Cultural programmes will be held at seven venues from October 5 to 13. There will be 29 programmes in all in front of Mysore Palace between 5 pm and 10 pm. Programmes will also be held at Jaganmohan Palace, Kalamandira, Ganabharti, Town Hall, Kuppanna Park and Dufferin Clock Tower.
He said the selection of artistes will be held in a transparent manner. Senior folk legend Yenagi Balappa has been invited to inaugurate the event.
