The air services between Mumbai and Goa via Belgaum will start from August 15.
Sugar Minister Prakash Hukkeri told reporters on Sunday that the Civil Aviation Ministry has allowed a private airline to start the service between Mumbai and Goa via Belgaum.
There will be one flight daily in the initial stage and it will be increased if the initiative is profitable.
He also said that the Ministry has released `33 crore to expand the length of the runaway and to upgrade the Sambra Aerodrome.
The tender process is already in progress and the work will be finished in 15 months.
