Voter IDs dumped on roadside

Around 1,000 electoral photo identity cards cards (EPIC) were found dumped on a road in front of the City Civil Court on Sunday. The autorickshaw drivers, who noticed the bundles of EPIC cards, informed Deputy Commissioner Ramegowda about the issue. Ramegowda soon visited the spot and seized them.

It is said that most of the EPIC cards belong to voters of Ramanuja Road and Basaveshwara Road in Krishnaraja constituency.

Former minister S A Ramdas of BJP, M K Somashekar of Congress, H Vasu of JD(S) and H V Rajeev of KJP had contested the recent Assembly elections from this constituency.

Thrown Out After Polls?

Later, Ramegowda told reporters that the cards might have dumped after using them for elections. “I will ask the polling officers to verify the authenticity of these cards,” he added.
