Over 8 lakh visit Hassan temple

Over 8 lakh people visited the Goddess Hassanamba temple in the past 10 days. The temple remains open for 13 days in a year as per tradition. The temple will close on Tuesday noon after a special pooja is offered by priests and rituals are strictly followed as per tradition.

According to sources, the temple witnessed the highest number of devotees this year and Rs 33 lakh was collected by providing a special entry for devotees from adjacent districts and states. Police and revenue officials were deputed to manage the queue and VIPs had a tough time managing devotees for three days from November 1 due to government holidays. Private hotels and lodges were booked a week before the opening of the temple. According to sources, the highest number of devotees visited the temple through special entry for which the Muzarai Department had fixed Rs 250 for a devotee.
