Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s move to ease out Information and Infrastructure Development Minister Santosh Lad from the Cabinet has proved to be a master stroke fo the Congress party ahead of the legislature session in Belgaum as the opposition parties JD(S) and BJP have lost the sting in their attack.

The Opposition parties, which were eager to put the Siddaramaiah government on the mat over Lad’s issue, have to rework their strategies  now.

The ten-day session begins from Monday.

“We will take up farmers’ issues strongly in the Belgaum session, especially the failure of the government to fix the price for sugarcane, failure to rescue coconut, areca and paddy growers, who are suffering from problems like price crash and crop diseases,” Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly H D Kumaraswamy.

The BJP too is ready to take on the government for its “minority appeasement policies”, former chief minister Jagadish Shettar  said.
