BJP member M D Laxminarayana staged a dharna in the upper house here on Monday protesting against the Chair for not taking cognizance of his adjournment motion demanding a discussion on the Shaadi Bhagya scheme.
When the House assembled, the member brought to the attention of the Chair about a notice he had sent on serving adjournment motion notice to discuss the Shaadi Bhagya scheme.
The Chairman informed the member that according to the convention of the House, he is obliged to give priority to an adjournment motion moved by the Opposition leader. The member withdrew his agitation after the Chair explained the procedures of the House.
