The House rarely witnesses an occasion where Opposition compliments the government. However, on Monday, the ruling members stoutly protested after Opposition Leader in Council D V Sadananda Gowda expressed his appreciation to the government for dropping Santhosh Lad from the Cabinet.
There was uproar in the House when Gowda appealed to Chairman D H Shankaramurthy to allow him to move a resolution complimenting the state government in this regard.
When Gowda said the government deserves to be complimented on the issue, Congress members retorted that the BJP leader has no moral right to move such a resolution.
“People of the state needs to be complimented for rejecting the BJP in the May Assembly elections,” Veeranna Mathikatti said.
