Siddu Takes Time Off to Watch Film on Gandhi

BANGALORE: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was in a relaxed mood on Monday after the hectic Dasara-related programmes and took time off to watch a film, Gandhiji Kanda Kanasugalu (The Dreams of Gandhiji),  produced by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, on Monday.

According to official sources, Minister H K Patil and senior officials were present at the screening of the two-hour-20-minute film at a mini-theatre in Malleswaram in the evening.

The film is based on the theme of emancipation of the people living in rural areas. It was produced keeping in mind the taste of the present generation and is said to have commercial elements with a tinge of documentary films. It highlights the relevance of Gandhi’s ideals to ensure the “realisation of Gram Swaraj”.

The film also has a clip of Siddaramaiah addressing rural folk in a remote area in north Karnataka.
