Tahsildar Inspects Village

A day after villagers of Narasamangala near Chamarajanagar exhumed the body of a Leukoderma patient and cremated it, Tahsildar Syvarna on Saturday visited the village and warned them of action.

A day after villagers of Narasamangala near Chamarajanagar exhumed the body of a Leukoderma patient and cremated it, Tahsildar Syvarna on Saturday visited the village and warned them of action.

The villagers alleged that they have not witnessed rainfall for the past four years after burying the body in the village.Syvarna visited the village and told them that it is illegal to exhume body without government nod.

Revenue officials said they will take action against those people who exhumed the body and burnt it later. A detailed report in this connection will be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner.

However, the villagers said the body was exhumed after getting  permission of family members. The villagers believe that if the body of a Leukoderma patient is buried, the village is bound to suffer bad times. As expected by the villagers, soon after the cremation, the rain came pouring down.
