No Emergency Exit: 25 Buses Seized in Davangere in 3 Days

The frisking operations have been held near Anagodu road, Hadadi and Jagalur roads since May 1.

Nagendra said all vehicles, irrespective of the state of its registration and ownership, are being frisked for emergency exit.

The seized vehicles are parked at RTO premises, he said and added after verification of documents and vehicle conditions the cases will be filed.

With alarge number of passengers travelling on Pune-Bangalore national highway and frequent accidents, thorough check of the vehicles plying on the route was being done since Wednesday midnight.

Transport Department officials told reporters in Chitradurga that all buses, cabs, stage carriers, contract carriages are being frisked to ensure that basic necessitates, such as emergency exits, are present.

If any lapses are found then the vehicles are seized and an alternate KSRTC bus have been arranged to transport the stranded passengers, they said.
