Team Rahul Bites the Dust in Karnataka

Almost all the members of Team Rahul who were fielded in the April 17 Lok Sabha elections in the state have failed to sail through. The party high command had reportedly okayed the list of party nominees, who had the backing of AICC vice-president and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi.

BANGALORE: Almost all the members of Team Rahul who were fielded in the April 17 Lok Sabha elections in the state have failed to sail through. The party high command had reportedly okayed the list of party nominees, who had the backing of AICC vice-president and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi.

The names included,  former AADHAR chairman Nandan Nilakeni (Bangalore South), KPYCC president Rizwan Arshad (Bangalore Central), Ramya (Mandya), Laxmi Hebbalkar (Belgaum), Vinay Kulkarni (Dharwad), Saleem Ahmed (Haveri) and Prashant R Deshapande (Uttara Kannada). Rahul Gandhi, who had not only ensured the candidature of his team had also addressed rallies in their respective Lok Sabha segments during his campaigns in the state.
