MYSORE: The monuments and forts of the Deccan Sultanate in Gulbarga, Bidar and Bijapur, monuments of Srirangapatna in Mandya district and the sacred ensembles of the Hoysalas at Belur and Halebid in Hassan district have been included in the tentative list of World Heritage Sites prepared by the UNESCO, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said here on Thursday.
After laying the foundation stone for various development works on the office premises of the city police commissioner, Siddaramaiah said the inclusion of these sites in the World Heritage List is a matter of pride for the State.
The Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage has submitted a proposal to the Advisory Committee on World Heritage Matters (ACWHM) in this regard in February, he added.
