DHARWAD: National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources president S R Hiremath has urged the government to initiate criminal action against former minister B N Bache Gowda and his family members over their alleged involvement in land grabbing in Shantanapur village of Sulibele hobli of Hoskote taluk in Bangalore Rural district.
He told reporters here on Monday that Gowda grabbed 24 acres granted to dalit families in 1977-78 by forging documents.
He said he has obtained a copy of the letter from the principal secretary to the Revenue Department, dated August 6, 2014, regarding irregularities committed by Gowda. He said based on the Bangalore Regional Commissioner’s report, the principal secretary has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Bangalore (Rural) to register a case.
