Two Dead, Five Injured in Accident

EHAVERI: Two people died on the spot and five suffered minor injuries when an NWRTC bus from Hubli to Haveri hit a parked lorry near Bankapur in Shiggaon taluk on the Pune-Bangalore National Highway on Monday.

All of them were travelling in the bus.

The deceased have been identified as Jakeer Babusabha Mulla of Old Hubli and Ramchandra of Kadab in Puttur taluk of Mangalore district.

The injured are being treated in the taluk hospital in Shiggaon.

A case has been registered in Bankapur police station here.
